The Face of a New Era in Agriculture

Imagine arriving at your farm and, instead of manually checking your cows, a facial recognition system tells you who has already grazed enough. No, it's not a sci-fi scene, but a real possibility thanks to advances in biometric technology.

What's Making News

The National Banking and Securities Commission of Mexico (CNBV) has authorized banks to use facial recognition to identify their clients. Effective July 2, 2026, this measure allows financial institutions to verify user identity through mobile applications, complementing the current system that only used fingerprints.

This technology allows banks to identify users as long as the facial image matches at least 90% with official records from the INE, SRE, or other agencies. Additionally, the commercialization of these biometric data is prohibited, ensuring responsible data management.

And in the Agro-Food Sector?

Facial recognition can extend beyond the financial world and significantly impact the agro-food sector. Imagine being able to identify and monitor each head of cattle without the need for physical tags. This would not only reduce costs but also improve the efficiency and accuracy of livestock management.

For example, producers could use this technology to automate access control to grazing areas or barns, ensuring that each animal receives the appropriate amount of food. This not only optimizes resources but also can enhance livestock health by preventing overgrazing or overfeeding.

In agriculture, facial recognition could be applied to monitor plant growth and health, identifying issues like pests or diseases before they become a major problem.

The TEEM Perspective

At TEEM, we see a world of possibilities in applying facial recognition beyond banks. Our expertise in custom software development allows us to create specific solutions for the agro-food sector, leveraging biometrics to enhance field management and efficiency.

We can develop systems that integrate facial recognition with other technologies, like IoT sensors, to provide a comprehensive view of your production status. Moreover, we ensure that the data collected is handled securely, always respecting data privacy.

A Future with a Face and a Smile

Technology is here to stay, and facial recognition is just one of the many tools we can use to revolutionize the agro-food sector. Are you ready to give your business a new face?
